December 5th, 1905  --  August 4th, 1983
Mrs. Sarah Robinson was born on December 5th, 1905 in Bolton, Mississippi to Charles and Minnie Stepney. She accepted Christ at an early age and united with Union Hill Baptist Church of Shelby, Mississippi. Later she united with Caanan Baptist Church, Greater Caanan Baptist Church, and finally-- Christian Missionary Baptist Church of which organized as a prayer band in 1961 and later established itself as a church that she was the founder of.

In August of 1924, she was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Edmund Robinson and to that union, two children were born: Ora Lee and Edmund Jr.

Mrs. Sarah Robinson "wore many hats" for the advancement of this congregation. For twenty-two years she served as the chairperson of the committee of the church and played a significant role in coordinating the business and finances of the church. She served as the Sunday School Teacher for Adult Sunday School Class #4, a member of the Trustee Board, Gospel Chorus, Missionary Society and Supervisor of the Matrons & Young Adult Choir.

Though her dedication was to the organized body God placed her to serve under, her Christian witness extended beyond the local church to the Bethlehem District Association of Chicago & Vicinity,  Baptist State Convention of Illinois, Inc., and the Progressive National Baptist Convention, Inc.

On Thursday, August 4th, 1983, Mother Robinson transitioned this life from labor to reward. Her relentless efforts, contributions, and vision put in place were not in vain, but continues lives through each and every member and leader of this body!

We appreciate, thank, and honor the sacrifice she and so many other founding members made for us to get to at least a piece of what we have today as a ministry !!!
